Profile

Licensed professional engineer with 13+ years in complex concrete formwork, shoring, and reshoring. Leads technical delivery for multi-story hospitals, universities, hotels, and high-rise residential and office work across the western region. Builds the engineering bench, writes the training, and owns the high-risk temporary-works calls.

Experience

United Forming, Inc.

West Regional Engineer · June 2021 – Present · Austin
  • Technical lead for shoring and reshoring on complex multi-story work, including hospitals, universities, hotels, and towers.
  • Supervises project draftsmen and assistant formwork engineers. About a fifth of the role is management and review, not production design.
  • Owns specialized high-risk temporary works: post-tension repair reshoring, custom platforms over existing roofs, column reconstruction support, and large hole covers under live loads.
  • Built the company training series starting with “Understanding Reshoring Systems,” plus standardized details used by engineering, project management, and the field.
  • Pre-bid reshoring analysis for estimating, and targeted field inspection on high-risk pours.

Special projects

Student housing, Austin

Most complex shoring design of the career

Highly intricate multi-level systems, taken from scheme through topping out. The one to lead with when the question is judgment under a messy structure, not a typical deck.

Multi-level shoring and reshoring under concrete decks at a student housing project

Shoring and reshoring in service, Austin.

UT Engineering Discovery Building

Post-tension repair reshoring

High-load reshoring after a Level 1 stair-landing error cut post-tensioned cables. Designed the repair support and inspected it on site before detensioning.

Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church

Work over an existing building

Shoring platform over the existing roof, plus custom reshoring to reconstruct a misplaced column. Completed with no safety incidents.

Shoring towers around a column being rebuilt, with the reinforcing cage continuing above the existing stub

Column reconstruction, Dallas. The cage continues above the stub that had to be rebuilt.

Autograph Collection, Austin

Stamped upper levels, live deck

Personally designed and stamped Levels 4–14. Included a 20 by 20 foot hole cover on Level 14 under live construction load, performed without incident.

Round Rock Public Library

Team lead · garage plus library

Four-level parking garage and library. Directed design method, reviewed calculations, and supervised field inspections for a multi-person engineering team.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital parking deck

Demolition and new construction

Same team-lead role on a hospital deck that combined demolition with new structure. The risk sat in the sequence, not only in the new deck design.

Green Water Block 23 and Block 188, Austin

31-story and 35-story residential towers

Earlier-career deck and reshoring work. Block 23 was the largest and most complex project at the time. Useful as range, not as the lead story.
